Work Done to Date:

(No rest for the weary)

Since the "work done to date" section seems to be growing by leaps and bounds, I figured I'd give it its own page.

I was looking around for a new engine, then I thought maybe I'd rebuild mine myself. After pulling as much of it apart as possible while still in the car, I decided to just replace the big end bearings, rocker assembly and some other minor parts. The crank and cam looked pretty good, no scoring on either of them. So for now I'll just fix what I can and hold off on the major rebuild.

Update! The engine was rebuilt in February of 1999, for some photos click here.

Here are some more more photos of work in progress.

Recently, I've been purchasing most of my parts from Classic Restorations. I priced out everything I would need for a rebuild from a number of different sources, and they were substancially less expensive than most suppliers. Plus, George is a pleasure to do business with. If you're in the market for parts, I'd definately drop him a line.

Unfortunately, even with all of this work having been done on the car I still have some serious rust to contend with. I'm actually looking for a cheap late '60s body that I could swap for my car's cancerous body. If you know of one for sale or have one collecting dust in your garage please drop me a line.
